Arabic Regional
Internet Service Providers Association (ARISPA), a non-profit
organization aimed at supporting and enhancing the internet industry
in the Arab world, is organizing a 'Know-how exchange workshop' at
Four Seasons hotel in Damascus, Syria, on the 4th of April.
The event will be hosted by Syrian Business Development Group (Inana),
and will see the participation of some distinguished members like
AwalNet from Saudi Arabia, Wanadoo from Jordan, eCompany from UAE,
QualityNet from Kuwait, Syrian Business Development Group (Inana) from
Syria, IDM from Lebanon and LINKdotNET from Egypt.
This important event is based on the huge success achieved in the last
expertise exchange workshop held in Lebanon. And it represents a great
opportunity for member ISPs to exchange technical know-how and
practical experiences among each other, which consequently leads to
getting over the obstacles they face. The workshop will shed the light
on certain technical topics, such as enhancing bandwidth, broadband
services, hosting problems, security issues and project management.
Eng. Abdulaziz Al Helayyil, secretary general of ARISPA, says:
'Damascus workshop embodies the main objective of the association,
which is to develop the knowledge and experience of its members by
means of intellectual and practical exchange, as well as uniting the
efforts of all ISPs in the Arab world in a bid to overcome the
technical problems the internet industry is going through. It also
aims to boost the trade exchange among Arab countries as well.'
'The association boasts to have under its umbrella the elite of Arab
technical experts. Therefore; the workshop is expected to be very
interesting and helpful to all participants,' he adds.
Arabic Regional Internet Service Provider Association was announced in
November 2004. It has got a number of the leading ISPs in the Arab
world, including AwalNet from KSA, eCompany from UAE, QualityNet from
Kuwait, IDM from Lebanon, Syrian Information Technology Association,
LINKdotNET from Egypt, and Wanadoo from Jordan.
The association realizes the great significance of internet and
information technology, and is completely aware of the huge impact of
these two on the development and improvement of business, education
and trading, as well as many other industries.
